TBK outside Singapore Museum
This was the first stop on a mammoth Asia Trip from
Bahrain in 2016 taking in Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia and Vietnam. I did some
research online (having only stopped over there once on the way to Australia)
and found someone to show me around and a reasonably priced hotel to stay in. I
discovered that there was a train line from the airport to near the hotel and
then only difficulty I had was when I tried to put Malaysian coins in the
Ticket machine!
The hotel room was cosy and modern and they had a good buffet breakfast where I enjoyed reading the paper and drinking coffee.
On the second day we headed over to the Singapore
Botanic Gardens, the first of three UNESCO world Heritage sites I discovered on
this trip. They were setting up for a concert in the evening so I sat in the
sun and listened to the pianist rehearse which was surreal.
On my third day I headed over to Sentosa and want on the monorail, coach, and walked around. I had a great lunch by the sea (Ironically called Palawan Beach) and eventually headed back to the hotel.
The next day I got a taxi to the coach terminal where I got the coach to Melaka in Malaysia which is covered in my next Blog.
