If it's stories you want , its stories you shall have- Meet Bom.

He arrived in Bahrain at the tender age of 19 to work for his aunt and uncle and who had Thai restaurants here. At 21 he was recalled to Thailand to serve in the Army but by taking female hormones he managed to be exempted and before training as a Masseur and returning to Bahrain when he was 22 to work at the same Massage Parlour as Oak , Phum and several other Thai boys in Hoora. Then COV 19 arrived, the Salon was closed in March 2020 , and 16 months later the boys are still jobless and without money , but stuck here in Bahrain.

One of their friends committed suicide, one moved to Doha and some returned to Thailand ( where they have no work either). The thing we often forget is that they came here to earn money to support their poor families back home, most of whom are farmers and live in the provinces. The lure of Rich Saudi Men paying them large sums of money for Thai massage with happy endings was just too much and now they are living from hand to mouth and day to day. It's so sad.

So I asked my friend Oak to come and show me how to cook a Thai dish and he asked if he could bring Bom with him. In the end they cooked the dish together and after we ate washed up and swept the floor. I gave them some of the left over food to take home and they were so grateful.

A while back my friend Max ( the one who had Cov 19 and wrote a series of 5 Blogs about his experiences) asked if I would arrange for Bom to teach him how to do Thai Massage ( so he could keep his wife happy!) . So the next challenge for Bom is to train Max how to give massage. I am sorry to disappoint but there will be no blog or vlog of this session! As we say in English, "Once bitten , twice shy!
